The liaison continent visitor insurance plan is a low-cost, simpler version of the Liaison Majestic plan. The liaison continent medical insurance plan offers a range of medical benefits for visitors to the United States and Canada, and for other international travel. It is especially suited for those who are looking to insure against the most common occurrences.
The plan benefits range from $50,000 to $1 million. The maximum plan period is six months, and anyone older than 14 days can avail of the plan. The plan can be renewed for up to six months, with the original date used for determining/ the coinsurance, deductible and pre-existing conditions.
Various plan options are available, depending on the applicable co-insurance rate chosen. Different plans are available for those traveling to the United States and Canada, and those traveling outside these two countries. The premium varies according to the option, maximum benefit, and deductible chosen.
Plan benefits include physician expenses, hospitalization and outpatient charges, charges pertaining to intensive or coronary care, examination and diagnostic costs, and ambulance charges. The liaison continent visitors health insurance plan pays for physiotherapy, hotel room costs (in case of non-availability of a hospital), and home health care (up to a maximum of $2,500).
The liaison continent medical insurance plan covers dental emergencies as per the schedule of benefits, emergency medical evacuation, travel of one family member to be with the insured in case of such evacuation and recommendation by doctors, return of minor children (in case hospitalization renders them unattended), accidental death and dismemberment, and return mortal remains to the home country in the unfortunate case of the death of the insured when traveling overseas.
The plan follows the plan holder through incidental trips to the home country, and covers treatment for conditions first diagnosed when traveling abroad. Lost baggage is covered up to $250, and if the trip is interrupted due to the death of a family member or substantial damage to the primary residence of the insured, the liaison continent insurance Plan reimburses the cost of the ticket to travel home.
Although previously existing conditions are exempt from coverage, the plan waives the clause for U.S. citizens traveling abroad, for a maximum of $20,000. Injuries resulting from hazardous sports are not included in the liaison continent visitor insurance plan, but coverage can be purchased for an additional fee.
The administrators of the liaison continent visitors health insurance plan are Seven Corners, Inc. The plan is underwritten by Certain Underwriters at London-based Lloyd's, and is certified "A" by the A.M. Best Company. The plan is associated with the Hygeia network in the United States.
