(g) A strong support entity.

(h) Engaging in a business which entertains you.

While all of the aforementioned factors play a key role in determining your success, they are merely ancillary to the following three core competencies as they relate to your success. They are as follows:

1. Self-discipline

2. Desire

3. Belief

The absence of any one of these characteristics can be detrimental. If you are missing just one such characteristic, you can expect to engage in dalliance, contentedness, anxiety, and a let down. This will lead to the ultimate demise of your online endeavor, meaning that you will not make money at home. It is the absence of at least one of these characteristics in so many individuals why 97% of online business result in failure.

1. Self-discipline

The ultimate test of this competency is created when you transition from the traditional work place and attempt to make money from the comforts of your own dwelling. The autonomy to make your own decisions can easily consume you to the point that you do not initially realize that you are allowing yourself to become distracted by your new surroundings.

You may not realize that you are now accepting personal phone calls without business hours, and taking lengthy breaks which would be unacceptable at your former place of employment.

One can argue that your autonomy grants to the benefits of a flexible schedule. Therefore, it is okay to drive twenty-five minutes to meet a friend for lunch. However, if you want to make money at home and be successful, you are going to have to conform to even more strict rules than your previous job.

Without this core-competency, it will be difficult, if not impossible, to focus the requisite attention on your home business.

2. Desire

Desire is what gives you the motivation to do the thing which need to be done to make your business successful. You need to note that the desire to make money at home just is not enough. You must also have a strong desire to work within your niche of choice. The desire to make money will only take you so far. When things get difficult, and the money is not coming in as quickly as you had hoped, it will be the passion which you have for your business that will generate your positive momentum.

Desire is your internal fuel, and keeps you going when everything else around you seems to be falling apart. Your desire keeps your head up high, and keeps you motivated to do things outside of your comfort zone, which are essential to the survival of your business.

Anyone who lacks desire will be quick to quit when things do not go as planned. This is why it is so important to engage in a business which you are passionate about, and have a high desire to succeed in. At some point in the future, this desire will push you through the blockade.

3. Belief

When we speak of belief, we are referring to a number of things. For instance, you have to ask yourself if you believe in your ability to become successful in online business. Also, you need to believe in your business, your worthiness for success and fortune, as well as your right to have something work out as you had envisioned it. It is important that you use your mental state to your benefit. Realize that while your mind can work greatly for you, it can also work negatively against you.

What you believe in, regardless of the reality of the current circumstance, can determine whether you are a successful human being. The truth is that you will be astonished at how many highly intelligent, talented, and imaginative individuals end up failing because they simply do not believe in their abilities, or their right to be successful.

Without this core competency, you are fighting a losing battle against your own self-doubts. You must focus on building a frame of mind which not only allows you to believe in your right to succeed, but also blocks out any doubts of ultimate success.

Anyone can make money at home with the proper self-discipline, desire, and belief. This is the recipe for entrepreneurial success.
